This Saturday we celebrate Alenka Hubacek’s 50th Game. Alenka came to the Murray Bombers with her partner Briggsy who was coaching the Senior Football side becoming Echuca’s own Posh & Becks, Steffi & Andre you might say!
Coming off a professional tennis career, jetting over the world, Alenka is a late bloomer when it comes to netball. She had never actually played netball before the 2016 season when she started playing for the EFNC. However that is no barrier as Alenka’s natural sporting talent and competitive nature is evident in how quickly she has mastered the game. If taking on a new sport is not enough she was also determined to challenge herself and take on arguably the toughest position on the court, in goals. All of us around you Alenka are in awe of how quickly you were able to become a great netballer many probably not even knowing that you hadn’t ever played before! On the court Alenka is reliable and doesn’t waste the ball, she is determined and her athleticism keeps her opponents on their toes.
Netball aside Alenka’s work load off the court is admired by all around her. Always first to put her hand up to help out, organising balls, running social media, nothing is too much for her. Alenka has played netball and has also been a committee member in 2017 and Vice President this year she is dedicated to our club.
We are so glad you decided to give netball a go and be such a big part of our club Alenka. We look forward to many more exciting years on and off the netball court with you. Congratulations on your milestone today and we thank you for all you do for us.
