This week we also congratulate Annabel Johnson on her 50th game milestone. Bel is another talented product from the Baby Bombers playing one season and then joining the EFNC. Bel had a ripping first season in 2016 playing in the Under 17’s and also scoring a couple of call ups to the B grade side during the year. In 2017 as a 16 year old Bel was promoted to the B grade side where she played for the season. In a successful year the team made it to the Grand Final just falling short but what an experience. This season Bel is again setting the court on fire in the B grade side with her dynamic movement and maturing game. She has a great desire for the ball and is always prepared to put her body on the line to get it.
Bel loves playing at the Murray Bombers because she is surrounded by a variety of people. She has loved getting to know the” older” people around the club and calling them friends. She admires Tam and Framey as players and says Marnie is her favourite because she makes her laugh. Of all the great sporting moments she’s enjoyed with the Murray Bombers when asked to pick her greatest memory so far her response was “The Ball last year”. Not quite the response I was looking for, but she said it was the greatest night dancing and having fun with her mum and all her netball mates!
The netball club got a bit of a package when Bel joined as Trine (Bels mum) is a committee member and B grade Team Manager and sister Maeve is playing Under 17’s. We love having Bel around the club not only because of her respect and gratitude she always shows coaches and committee members but mainly because of Bel just being Bel. She is easy going, funny and just the type of person you want as a team mate.
We thank you for the entertainment you bring on and off the court Bel and look forward to seeing the best that’s yet to come.
