NETBALL MILESTONE

31 Aug 2018 by Zara Pearson

This week we celebrate Tamara Nicholl’s 100 game Milestone.
Tam started her netball career playing for Donald in the North Central League. Moving to Melbourne for University she played at Darebin and then moved on for a year to Bendigo where she played a season with YCW in the Lodden Valley League. This year she celebrated the 10 year reunion of the A grade Premiership she won with YCW.
In 2009 Tam made the move to Echuca and Wendy and Charlotte Long suggested going down to Echuca Bombers. Jenny Dwyer was the coach at the time and they were also the days of Giant Jenga at the Shammy and making many lifelong friends. After the 2009 season Tam had 3 years off netball to focus on her Podiatry career, enter plug, she is also a great podiatrist! Playing the 2013 and 2015 season Tam was the playing coach of the winning B grade Premiership side in 2015. In 2017 and this season Tam has not only played but has also been the Coaching Coordinator. Tam is a respected and admired leader at our club. She is approachable, sensible and committed to the continual improvement of our club and its players which is why she does such a great job in this role.
Tam has predominately played B grade at the Murray Bombers but in true Tam fashion she has earned a consistent and always influential role in the A grade side through hard work and dedication. Tam says herself, she loves the game because she loves competing and challenging herself. She also loves the bond you form with your teammates when you play a team sport.
Tam says Echuca has a fantastic culture, great values and beautiful people on and off the court and she loves that her family are a part of that big family. She thinks it’s a great place for her kids to be a part of as they grow up. You have been an invaluable addition to our club Tam and all the girls are grateful and inspired by all the work you do for us.
Congratulations on 100 games Tam, we are sure your Number 1 supporters Scoob, Paddy and Abbey are very proud of you and will be cheering you on from the sidelines, like they do every week.
